WUHAN FLU [CORONAVIRUS] UPDATE for June 26, 2020:

It looks like there is a bit of cheating going on to (spike) up the coronavirus death rate. The Covid Tracking website last night posted a 2,500 increase in daily deaths; the Coronavirus Dashboard just posted today a daily death toll of 2,580.

For the last 14 days the daily deaths have been steadily dropping; (via the Coronavirus Dashboard) from 515 on the 13th to 493 yesterday with only two spikes of just over 1,000. There is no indication which state/territory generated that sudden spike, but my money is on one or more of the top five: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. The southern states that have already reopened are all showing increases, but even in sum do not begin to approach a tenth of that number.

Despite the sudden spike, the cumulative deaths curve is still trying to flatten, and the death rate curve is still maintaining its downward trend. The death rate has maintained its downward trend to 0.0903% and my estimate of the percentage of Americans still uninfected has dropped again to 57.276%.

In Georgia, the sharp spike in new cases, roughly 1,800/day continues, but deaths are way down -- the rolling average is continuing its downward trend.

My previous report is here.
