DETROIT: Ayn Rand's Starnesville come to life.
I finished (re)reading Atlas Shrugged not too long ago. Rand's description of Starnesville is a near-perfect match to the pictures of the now abandoned parts of Detroit.
What I find most unsettling is that the rest of America isn't far behind.

THE GROUNDS for standing your ground.
If, God help us, a 'duty to retreat' is formulated into law, then every public park in America has the potential to become a gangbangers' heaven. Don't believe me? Then go and enjoy any state/national forest/park on the Arizona border with Mexico.
