LIBERAL SANCTUARY CITIES GET WHAT THEY VOTED FOR — and they're going broke.

Suck it up -- you'll get no sympathy from me.
WHY DO YOU THINK IT'S CALLED "AMERICA'S NEWS OF RECORD"? The time between a Babylon Bee satire and reality is now down to about 24 hours.
FALLING LEAVES 2023, Episode 1: It's been significantly cooler of late, and leaves are beginning to show up on the road, so it must be time for my annual 'Falling Leaves' series. I start with my usual views of the pond and fire pit from our carport deck.
There's still plenty of green around, but you can see in the upper right corner of the pond view there's a bit of thinning and brown in the trees, some of which I think is a remnant of the hard freeze we had at the end of last winter.
The roses and day lilies are still flowering along the fence line, but the grass is beginning to brown, as are some of the tree leaves at the left in this picture. We haven't (yet) had that bellwether image that starkly indicates the future.
Here's the house view from about halfway down to our pond. I didn't weedeat this year, so the ground cover is very dense. It'll slowly die out as the days progress and maybe this year I'll cut it down before spring springs.
The pond area around the dock is beginning to show signs of winter. The flowers along the water are clearly declining, and the trees along the back side of the dam are beginning to show significant signs of leaves browning -- no colors yet, though.
The pond, however, is still in (mostly) summertime mode. A little bit of brown along the tops of the trees is the only real sign of winter coming.

Until next week....
