I ALMOST MISSED IT: It's Sunday, and time for Installment III of Autumn Leaves 2018. Here are today's pictures:

Color changes (from green to dead) are beginning to show in some of the other trees in the background. Unfortunately, it looks like their will be no yellow or red this year.

No real changes from last week.

Again, no real changes from last week although the glare from the cloudy sky makes it difficult to tell.

Finally, some change. You can see the brown across the pond, and there is a bit of yellowish tinge in the trees at the right.

The cloud glare does wash out the picture some, but it's clear that the foliage is thinning as the leaves drop. The house is now (barely) visible above the dock if you know where to look.

Last week's pictures are here for comparison.

POWERLINE'S Week in Pictures has posted. Here's my favorite:

But there are many others. Almost making the 'favorite' were Dianne Feinstein, Lindsey Graham, Me Too, It's Not Rape, Democrat Harassment, Corey Booker's face and the left-handed vice grips. Go see them all.
IS IT SATIRE, or is it real? Democrat Senators apologized to ‘all of those we surely molested during the past several decades, though we’re not aware of having done so.’

It's satire - Democrats never apologize.
BRAVO, PRESIDENT TRUMP: “We will never surrender America’s sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable, global bureaucracy.” I would only add that we, the American people, will never surrender our sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable, U.S. government bureaucracy.

Now go read it all.
POWERLINE: Some thoughts about liberal presumptions. You can take it to the bank that any (progressive) liberal presumptions about conservatives/Republicans are nothing more than projection of their own internal beliefs.

Here's an item from the comments that reflects my own opinion exactly:
I'm having difficulty imagining a treatment that can be considered "respectful" while the author (Brinkley) feels the need to ensure his innate (to him) belief in the superiority of leftism is defended. I readily admit I am nothing resembling respectful when I refer to leftists as idiots. But I am serious about it. It is the leftists' feeling of entitlement to always demand bipartisanship and acceptance of their definition of the term (at some point, and preferably sooner rather than later, accede to the leftist) that makes me loathe them so.

Not only do leftists lack a knowledge base about conservatism and familiarity with the people who practice it, they have no interest in the topic. Therefore, their work always reverts to criticism or condescension instead of an objective discussion of the merits. Why would I read a leftist's view on conservatism, a topic she is so thoroughly unqualified to write about except to point fingers at the "boogeyman"? I certainly wouldn't read a book about capitalism written by a lifelong Communist or anything written about guns by Michael Beschloss.

I had to laugh when I read the comment by MacLean in the postscript. She used "IMHO," which usually stands for "In My Humble Opinion." By the tone of the rest of her comment, she hasn't had a humble nanosecond in her life.
Exactly right.
MALLARD FILLMORE has a 'trigger warning' for readers.
NO SURPRISE: It looks like Maxine Waters's staff doxxed several GOP senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Maxine Waters is batshit crazy; there's no reason not to assume her staff is as well.
NEWT GINGRICH: Is there even one Democrat decent enough or disgusted enough to end this Kavanaugh travesty?

Quick answer: No. Even Diogenes would fail if he limited his search to Democrat politicians.

THE NRA FIGHTS BACK:

I just re-upped for another year's membership.
I JUST EMAILED Sen. Joe Manchin to encourage him to vote in favor of Brett Kavanaugh's elevation to the Supreme Court, and then this popped up online.

The fat lady just sung.

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

THE DEMOCRATS are digging new holes for moving the goalposts: Kavanaugh hearing once again in question as Christine Ford raises new concerns.

Next up: gay male comes forward to accuse Kavanaugh of not having sex with him....
SEXIST OR REALIST? Leaving a woman home alone with a smart phone and credit card has got to be the dumbest thing a man can do.

HOW 9/11 made a European upper-middle-class radical a conservative.
THE POLITICS of calculating hurricane deaths.

Since 'excess deaths' seems to be the new standard, I'd like to see that standard applied to hurricane Florence. For example, I'd like to see the 'excess death' calculation for Florence from say, a week before landfall to a week after landfall. My personal suspicion is that the deaths that didn't happen (murders, automobile accidents, etc.) because people left/stayed home/etc. exceed those that were directly related to the weather.

And then wait six months and repeat the experiment using exactly the same criteria that Lynn R. Goldman of the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University in her study of deaths in Puerto Rico due to hurricane Maria.
IT'S SUNDAY, and time for Installment II of Autumn Leaves 2018. Here are today's pictures.

The view from the deck hasn't changed much at all - the dead/dying trees are still dead/dying and the rest of the forest remains the same.

A narrower view of the fire pit this week, and as before not much has changed.

The house view is a slightly narrower view, taken from further down the pond path, but the foliage is little changed. I would like to get a picture from the opposite side, but the terrain along the southeast side of the house is so steep it's almost impossible to walk there. And any picture would have to be taken looking almost straight up....

Here's the dock view of the pond area, and there's finally a bit of evidence of Fall's arrival as the trees on the opposite side of the pond are just beginning to show signs of yellow. I suspect we won't see much color this year as the leaves seem to be green on the trees or brown on the ground. (And there are lots of them on the ground interfering with my efforts to build a new walkway around the carport.)

Finally, the view from the 'back side' of the pond. I've narrowed the field of view this week and moved further away from the pond so the bench is now visible. Our house is above and slightly left of the dock - and it is still completely invisible

Until next week....
HURRICANE FLORENCE CONTINUES TO PLAGUE THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA:

As you can probably guess, PowerLine's Week in Pictures has posted. While the media storm over Florence is my favorite, I have two others that ran a close second: hurricane-ready Detroit and the latest 'white power' symbol.

Check them all out.

AMMO GRRRLL is happy that Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) is batshit crazy. Here's why.
BECAUSE VIOLENCE AGAINST REPUBLICANS ISN'T REALLY VIOLENT VIOLENCE: Concerned Democrats aren't concerned about past sexual assaults by Democrats.
MAYBE IT WASN'T A METEOR STRIKE: the dinosaur extinction debate.

Very long, but quite readable.
NOW WE KNOW where the Weather Channel got the idea for its hurricane FLorence coverage.
IS IT OVER? Grassley responds to Ford’s demands, sets new response deadline, and issues new ultimatum: 10 pm tonight.

Hopefully we'll know in a few hours.

Thursday, September 20, 2018

YOU EXPECTED ANYTHING DIFFERENT? Senate Democrats urge FBI to probe threats against Ford; those against Kavanaugh and kin unmentioned.
THE KAVANAUGH NOMINATION: Keep your eye on Susan Collins and Jeff Flake.

The latest is that Christine Blasey Ford will testify - if the terms are 'fair'. My bet is that if she isn't granted an 'indefinite delay, she will declare no fair and refuse to testify, in which case the Judiciary committee should go ahead and vote on schedule, and damn the Democrats for obstruction.
OOPS! Who changed our search algorithm?
VICTORY GIRLS: Where is David Hogg when Chicago needs him?
CONFIRMED: New York Times editors really need to start reading the New York Times. Everything they're looking for is right there on the front page.
COMMENT OF THE DAY: "When dad's had enough, it is gonna hurt." Taken from this Don Surber post.
HILLARY CLINTON: Trump will 'wholesale fire people' after midterm election. That's a bad thing?

Well, I guess it could be for the swamp critters who infest his administration.

Random Thought: I wonder if roach spray will work on swamp things?
CALIFORNIA'S GOVERNOR ON TRUMP: "[S]omething's got to happen to this guy".

Yes, it will: re-election in 2020.
SILLY QUESTION: If Democrats can’t run Chicago, can they run anything?

The answer is obviously 'yes' ... into the ground.
JEFF FLAKE, traitor.
Like a number of others for whom I once had considerable respect, Flake has elevated his hatred for our president over every principle of politics and public policy. He would rather subvert his own allegedly conservative principles than allow President Trump to exercise his constitutional powers as president. Words can hardly express how contemptible this is.
Agreed. And read the entire post.
PLEASE, STUDENTS, take that “impractical” humanities course. A reader responds:
Now all you have to do is find a humanities course that actually teaches what you mention instead of some postmodern SJW claptrap. Good luck with that.
I would have linked to the original Washington Post article, but I'm not about to waste $1 - or give them cookie access to my PC - to read their semi-literate opinions.

IT'S THE MAGIC SOCIALIST MONEY TREE, STUPID. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's $40 trillion socialist utopia plan pays for itself and saves money.
WHAT? I thought the Washington Post was in favor of 'free stuff'.
ANOTHER REASON to ignore the hurricane nannies. They can't protect your property. You can.
CEO PAY fails to keep pace with average workers salaries.

BUT, BUT ... I was told by Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA) that CEO's make 300 times the average salary of their employees.

Which leads to an interesting little math factoid on my part. Using 300x as the rule, when I joined (then) Lockheed Missiles and Space Company as an average engineering employee in 1983, Dan Tellep, the LMSC CEO should have been making something on the close order of $12M. During the last 35 years, the cost-of-living has roughly increased by a factor of 2-1/2, LMSC has become the Lockheed Martin Corporation, and Marilyn Hewson is the current CEO of Lockheed Martin. If salaries had roughly kept pace with inflation, my 1983 'average engineer' salary would be about $100K (a bit high, but not out of the ballpark from currently available salary data) and therefore 300x salary would be about $30M. Hewsom's actual salary is $20.2M.

Politicians, especially Democrat politicians, would be well served if they had the math skills of an average 8th grader high school graduate (I'm being generous).
SCIENCE BELIEVES IN EVIDENCE; 'science' believes in Harrison Ford.
NOT EVERY PROBLEM needs a government solution.
[J]ust because voters see a problem doesn't mean that they want the federal government to get involved. Voters believe there's almost always a better solution available.
And they're right.
ON HURRICANES AND OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS: No, the media doesn't exaggerate or make things up.

What a load of bullcrap. Of course they exaggerate. Of course they make things up. If they didn't, they'd lose respect, power, and control when normal Americans discover that they can do quite nicely without media and deep state 'help'.

SAVE THE DEMOCRATS! Vote Republican. Well, I'm certainly voting [Trump] Republican, and not because I want to save Democrats. With their socialist wing in power, I rather hope the current Democrat party is erased from the face of the Earth and replaced with a rational one.
GOV. MOONBEAM at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco: "We’re going to launch our own satellite — our own damn satellite to figure out where the pollution is and how we’re going to end it."

In San Francisco, Gov. Brown, you don't need a satellite to tell you where the pollution is. Just look at the bottom of your shoes.
SARAH HOYT: Those who walked away from sanity.
[T]he hardcore left is composed of equal parts idiots and evil people.
It's depressing to see the fruits of liberalism, but read the whole thing.
AMMO GRRRLL: Humor is the best medicine.

KURT SCHLICHTER: Hollywood can’t (won’t) make awesome movies anymore.
Once upon a time, Normal people were Hollywood’s heroes, rebelling against the pompous windbags who wanted to keep them down. But that’s changed. Today’s elitists are those pompous windbags, and they are terrified by the rebellion of the people they desperately want to keep quiet and submissive. Hollywood doesn’t want to stir us up with entertainment that breaks the narrative. That’s why it serves us wimpy mush, cinematic Xoloft to lull us into dead-eyed passivity.
Read it all.
MEMO TO MORNING JOE: America is not an idea.
Freedom is an idea, liberty is an idea, the United States of America is a country, with borders and laws, and a Constitution that is the greatest use of words ever put to paper by men.

MICHAEL MOORE SAYS Hillary Clinton was the smartest person to ever run for President.

Far be it for me to challenge Moore's expert knowledge of Democrat politicians, but that's setting the bar so low a snake would have trouble slithering under it.

YOUR ACE is just a social construct.
POWERLINE'S Week in Pictures has posted. My two favorites this week are hurricane related; first, the hurricane categories

and then some Progressive preventive measures.

But there are many, many more. Go see them.
CHUCK TODD WONDERS WHY AMERICANS DON'T TRUST THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA. Look in the mirror, Chuck.
SO WE'RE STUCK WITH THE UNIVERSE WE HAVE? “University of Chicago astronomers found no evidence for extra spatial dimensions to the universe based on the gravitational wave data.”
IT'S TIME to begin my annual Fall Foliage picture series. I thought I was beginning a bit earlier than usual this year, but I looked up last year's series, and it started on September 17th.

Here's the first image, our usual view from our outdoor deck. We've had some plants moved over the year, and a few trees removed. The two in the foreground on the right are both dead/dying, so they're to be removed as soon as we can get it scheduled. The pond is - as usual - almost obscured by the foliage, but it will soon become much more visible.

This photo is new from last year: looking toward the fire pit from the deck. The view is looking mostly north, with our 'street' (read gravel road) on the left side. The view is roughly the same as last year's pictures looking down the driveway.

Here's looking back at the house, taken roughly halfway down the path to the pond. That's the deck, facing off the back of the single carport. The house itself is mostly obscured by foliage - it'll gradually appear as fall rolls on.

Here's the pond, taken from the end of the path looking across the dock. The primary creek that feeds the pond is at the left; the secondary creek (mostly underground) is just right of center. There is another house in the picture, on the left side, but it's completely obscured by the trees. It will become (just barely) visible as fall progresses.

And finally, the dock and our (obscured) house, taken from the opposite side of the pond where the secondary creek feeds the pond.

As the weeks roll on, I'll continue taking pretty much the same 5 pictures, maybe moving a little to get somewhat better views through the foliage.

NEW YORK TIMES: Nikki Haley’s state-funded residence is getting $52,000 curtains ... purchased by the Obama administration.

Oopsie....
DEAR DEMOCRATS: Not all conservatives are wishful thinking, gullible and stupid conspiracy theorists brainwashed by lies.

But all many Democrats seem to be....
PRESIDENT OBAMA is taking a selfie with the post-Obama Trump economic recovery.

Well, he certainly couldn't have taken a selfie with his own economy....
PRESIDENT TRUMP hates the poor so much that he is getting rid of them by giving them jobs and getting them off the public dole.

And out of the greedy, grasping, controlling hands of the Democrats....

CUBA'S BRIGHT SIDE: At least the condoms are subsidized.
TWITTER CEO JACK DORSEY admits conservative staffers 'don't feel safe to express their opinions' at liberal tech giant.

This is news?
GOODBYE, HILLARY: It was nice knowing you....
LAWNMOWER PARENTS: A new low in parenting philosophies. What's worse in my view than lawnmower (or helicopter) parents are the non-parent boobs who seem to think that they have an obligation to tell me how to raise my own kids.
WHO GETS POWERLINE'S 'GREEN WEENIE' THIS WEEK? Here are three strong candidates.

My vote is for Jerry Brown's California, for the simple reason thatnot only is it impossibly stupid, it can also do damage to the rest of the nation by exporting its pollution to the other 48 contiguous states (e.g., us). John Kerry and the Washington Post are just plain stupid.
GOOD NEWS: Gillette ad shows Nike how it’s done. And how Nike stepped in it.

What is the real emotional experience of pouncing on minor infractions of rules right-on activists seem to be making up as they go along, and which only proliferate and grow more exacting the more cravenly the rest of us obey the last ones? ... Nothing short of exhilaration. Crusaders relish locating another paper dragon to slay. In the guise of suffering and woundedness, the overriding emotion in call-out culture is a sensation of triumph.

NEITHER DO I: I really don't feel like submitting to socialist tyranny.
THE CLIMATISTAS are all spun up to say that Hurricane Florence proves that catastrophic climate change is upon us and that we need to do something right now. Umm ....

SILICON VALLEY’S futile search for Utopia via the ‘perfect algorithm.’

The Progressive Left's Utopia has no unintended consequences; the real world does. Their 'search' is destined for failure.
ANOTHER 'VICTORY' FOR SOCIALISM: Venezuela raises minimum wage 3,000% and lots of workers get fired.
RANDOM THOUGHT on the hurricane Florence coverage. In the interest of full transparency, the following should be inserted at the end of each televised segment:
No journalist or concern warrior has been harmed during the filming of this event. All victims have been selected from a basket of deplorables.
And yes, I am annoyed by all the idiots, government and non-government alike, who believe that they - and only they - know what's best for every single American.

RANDOM THOUGHT: Why not send Barack Obama to Charleston SC and have him tell the seas to 'stop rising'? After all, wasn't that what he promised when he was first inaugurated in 2008?
REMEMBERING

the 17th anniversary of 9/11.
OBAMACARE REQUIREMENT blamed for doctor burnout.

I'm inclined to believe the report - especially for older doctors. My doctor in Virginia was older, and vociferous in his distaste of ObamaCare's electronic health record requirement. I wouldn't be the least bit to surprised to find he's retired. My current doctor here in Georgia is much younger, and more used to computers. She is more comfortable with computerized health records and was more sanguine about them - until this:
There are serious dangers lurking behind the government’s $30 billion electronic health record (EHR) experiment. This omnipresent technology turns doctors into data clerks and shifts attention from patients to paperwork -- while health plans, government agencies, and the health data industry profit. Patients who think the HIPAA ”privacy” rule protects the confidentiality of their medical information will be shocked to discover it makes their medical records an open book [emphasis added].
She was really surprised to find out how little patient 'privacy' her patients actually have. I suspect she'll soon be rethinking her infatuation with electronic health records.

IF YOU EVER WONDERED "What is Social Justice?" here's your explanation.
GET WOKE, GO BROKE: Ratings for NFL season opener down double digits from last year.

Way to go, NFL.
KAMALA AND CORY, compare and contrast. It seems to me to be a question of who is less crazy. On the 'crazy' scale, I would rate them both equal; on an 'obnoxious' scale, Kamala Harris is the clear winner.
THE MCCAIN FUNERAL ONE LAST TIME: "[I]t’s the establishment delivering glowing eulogies for itself."
BABYLON BEE: Man who intentionally divided nation for eight years calls for unity.

The lede isn't satire; the rest is....
BUT DON'T WORRY; THEY'RE STILL DIGGING: Academic cowardice reaches a new low.

Follow the link to the Quillette article for detail, which is pretty disgusting, since mathematics is (at least theoretically) a hard science, not the disgusting 'academic' SJW crap we've learned to put up with from the soft sciences.

I've actually downloaded the pdf file for reading when I have time; the math is collegiate, but not graduate level.

IMAGINE IF Obama’s kids had said this.

Thanks to the media, they never had to. And they never will, even though they're older and the former President is back on the campaign trail.
A HISTORY LESSON: Honest reporting died long ago.
AFTER NIKE INTRODUCED Colin Kaepernick as it's 'new mascot', PowerLine introduced its midweek edition of its Week in Pictures.

Nike's new tagline is "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything." Here's what 'sacrificing everything' looks like:

Go see the rest. Nike is not looking good.
THAT'S RICH: Former president who never met a mandate of government regulation he didn't like is now urging rejection of authoritarian politics.

Could that be because the new authoritarian president is dismantling the old authoritarian president's mandates and regulations?

RANDOM THOUGHT ON THE KAVANAUGH HEARINGS: I'm watching Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) give Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) a run for the money as 'Jackass of the Hearing'. I'll give Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Mazie Hirono (D-HI) credit for trying, though.
NIKE just blew it.

INSTAPUNDIT IN USA TODAY: Sen. John McCain’s funeral put Washington’s vicious political hypocrisy fully on display.
TWO THOUGHTS from the Kavanaugh hearing (so far).

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) gave a remarkable opening statement this morning. I have already requested that his office post a video of that speech in entirety. If they do, I will repost in on Shadow's World.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) continued to perform excellently in his continuing role as the Senate's jackass.
AMERICAN PEOPLE: ‘No thanks’ to more Kavanaugh documents.
“Thanks, but no thanks,” the people said, “We enjoyed the first 500,000 pages, but we’re good.”
The Democrats lose another talking point....
CAMPUS REFORM: Task force suggests 'compulsory social justice training'. Only after compulsory training in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and what used to be called civics.

And civility training.
DOES NIKE SELL KNEEPADS? Colin Kaepernick is only qualified to endorse knee pads.

[UPDATED] REVISING HISTORY, moon landing edition.

The Left may try to delete the American flag from the history of the moon landing, but the flag will be there at least until Luna is colonized. And somehow I don't think there will be any Leftists clamoring to be part of the colonization.

A friend of mine reminded me of this story from the 40th year Apollo 11 reunion (July 2009):
About two weeks before the lunar landing, the design engineer at JSC was directed to design, build and have a flag placed on the moon. This was against international law, but Congress authorized and directed NASA to do it. The whole thing was to be secret. Two additional people from tech services were assigned help built it. He then took it to the Cape to find a place to strap it on the leg of the Lunar Module and coordinate with Neil Armstrong the placement on the moon. On July 20th 1969, as the engineer was watching the landing on TV, he watched Neil set the flag structure into the moon’s surface, raise up the arm and horizontally extend the flag. To his amazement, the flag did not fully extend, only going out about 80%! Checking his calculations he found he had made a design error with thermal coefficient of expansion of the tubes. Part of the problem was due to the secrecy of nobody else checking his analysis. He corrected the design for future missions. The engineer later became the Director of Engineering at JCS and for the rest of his career was stuck with answering all agency conspiratorial accusations that we had not landed on the moon because of the flag waving in the wind.
And the [American] flag still 'waves' on Luna.

THANK GOD our long national nightmare is finally over.
A BOYCOTT? WHAT BOYCOTT? Democrat who demanded In-N-Out boycott now claims it’s not happening.

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS makes massive free-tuition ‘commitment'. They could probably afford it for all students if they got rid of all the diversity drones and other administrative bloat. But that's not going to happen, so the taxpayers will take it in the shorts (again).
HEH: Rising tides sink moored Democrats.
POLITICIZE A FUNERAL? Last time, it didn’t turn out well.
John McCain was heroic in some ways, notoriously small-minded in others. It is perhaps a fitting coda to his career that his funeral was mostly about someone else.
My reaction to the week-long funeral extravaganza is pretty much the same as that of Powerline. McCain was a warrior and military hero, but he wasn't a saint. And I think the Left's use of his death to pound their own chests isn't going to sit well with most Americans.
WELL, THAT'S ONE WAY TO DO IT: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez praises Venezuela for making everyone a millionaire through hyperinflation.

Yes, it's (thankfully) a satire....
REVISING HISTORY, moon landing edition.

The Left may try to delete the American flag from the history of the moon landing, but the flag will be there at least until Luna is colonized. And somehow I don't think there will be any Leftists clamoring to be part of the colonization.

DON'T LOOK NOW — but Ted Cruz was exactly right about ObamaCare. Unfortunately I agree with Cruz; ObamaCare is so imbedded in the healthcare landscape that the only way to rid ourselves of it is to continue chipping around the edges until it collapses under its own weight.

I blame McCain.
WHAT DOES President Trump miss most?
IT'S A PUZZLEMENT: The Sessions Mystery. Personally I lean toward the 'falderal' explanation; Trump is a master 4-D chess player.
DENNIS PRAGER: Leftism is a secular religion.

ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC: Ex-Maryland governor Martin O'Malley locks down the most pitifully shameless liberal take on the Jacksonville (FL) shooting:
In Jacksonville on Sunday, two people were killed and over ten injured by a man from Baltimore, Maryland who brought a gun he obtained in that state into a gun-free zone in Florida and shot up the place after losing a video game tournament. He then killed himself.

With that in mind, guess who former mayor of Baltimore and ex-governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley, decided to slam for the shooting:

Another tragic mass shooting in Florida. Republican Governor Rick Scott proudly boasted that he passed more Pro-gun, NRA legislation than any other governor. Time to close the chapter on deadly pandering. #WinBackYourState, Florida.

— Martin O'Malley (@MartinOMalley) August 28, 2018

Got that? It’s Florida Gov. Rick Scott and the NRA’s fault that this guy with a history of mental illness legally obtained a gun in the gun control utopia of Maryland (Baltimore area) and brought it to Florida to kill people in another kind of area liberals love to create: Gun free zones.

O'Malley's now the frontrunner for the Shameless Lib Asshole of 2018 award, but the year is young.
He'll be tough to beat but I have confidence there's a Progressive out there somewhere ready to challenge him.

IN-N-OUTTA HERE? Burger chain gets offer to leave longtime home after Democrats' boycott threat.

I'd rather they moved to Georgia. As many have noted, their burgers and fries are to die for....
THE DEMOCRATS HAVE AN (ELECTORAL) DEATH WISH:
NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo calls ICE agents who take criminal aliens off the street a bunch of thugs.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) threatens ICE agents involved in "illegal deportations".
I have hope that the mid-term elections will grant their wish....

SLATE: Two years into his presidency and Donald Trump still doesn’t use computers.

Oh? "Perhaps that thing on the left side of his desk is actually the Weather Control/Time Warp device he bought from Dick Cheney."
AT MCCAIN'S FUNERAL SERVICE, I watched both the Bush and Obama eulogies. Bush spent 8 minutes talking about McCain; Obama spent 19 minutes talking about me and McCain.

Go figure.

VENEZUELA SEIZES SMURFIT KAPPA PLANT. So the Irish company that owns it said "Okedoke. It's yours. Good luck keeping it going."

Venezuela vs. John Galt. Galt wins.
I LOVE THE SOUND of mullahs whining.
FIRST THEY BOYCOTTED CHICK-FIL-A (and it prospered); now they're trying to boycott In-N-Out burgers. For serving plastic straws (and contributing to the Republican party).
I really do hope liberals extend this boycott mentality to other companies. Pharmaceutical companies tend to support Republicans very heavily. Maybe liberals will boycott taking life-saving prescription meds. The oil and natural gas companies also tilt heavily Republican. Liberals should stop buying gasoline, heating oil, and natural gas. Especially in winter. That’ll show ’em.
Read the whole post. Steven Hayward has a special gift for SJW mockery.

UPDATE: Backfire.
TRUMP TO RON DESANTIS CRITICS: “Monkey Off!”
“Socialism has monkeyed up every monkeying country where it’s been tried. First you get a bunch of elitist power-hungry mother-monkeyers, who take advantage of the poor dumb monkeys. Socialist government then monkeys the productive citizens out of their wealth, and pisses away all of the monkeying money.”

“As for Ron DeSantis, there is not a racist monkeying bone in his whole monkeying body.”

“So, to Ron’s critics, and to mine, I say: “Monkey off!”

— President Donald J. Trump

Yes, it's satire; it's ScrappleFace. But it shouldn't be.
