THE SOLEMNITY TRAP:

It’s hilarious that the Democratic Senators running for president are stuck in Washington, D.C. attending the entirety of the impeachment trial. There’s no need, other than a political one, for them to do so.

Why, then, do Sanders, Warren, Klobuchar feel compelled to be at the trial at all times, to the detriment of their campaigns? Because Democrats have to maintain the pretense that there’s something serious and solemn about the trial House Democrats have forced the Senate (and the nation) to endure.

In my book, anything that keeps Congress from 'working' is a good thing.

RANDOM [IMPEACHMENT] THOUGHT [7]: Watching the persecution prosecution, I'm reminded of what Instapundit always says about the Left: "All the Democrats have to do is not be crazy, and they can’t even do that." A similar point that I'm fond of making is this: "Democrats will always accuse the Right of doing that they would do themselves under the same circumstances."

It seems to me that both statements are just flip sides of the same coin: the Democrats are in fact crazy, and so ensconced in their own heavily fortified 'reality' bubble that they are truly incapable of recognizing that Republicans do not behave according to their expectations.
