I have similar thoughts and my best-case scenario is this: Republicans win the mid-terms bigly. Make Trump the Speaker of the House. Get rid of Biden via the 25th Amendment. Impeach Harris. Trump then becomes President to fill out Biden's term. Trump nominates DeSantis as his Vice President. DeSantis goes on to win two terms.
