FOR THE LEFT, especially among its 'governing elite', envisioning a result is the same as accomplishing it. Responsibility is best left to the 'little people'.

FIFTY YEAR OLD MANURE SPREADER - $1 ( WASHINGTON , DC )
Fifty-year old manure spreader. Not sure of brand. Said to have been produced in Kenya. Used for a few years in Indonesia before being smuggled into the US via Hawaii. Of questionable pedigree. Does not appear to have ever been worked hard. Apparently, it was pampered by various owners over the years. It doesn't work very often, but when it does it can sling shit for amazing distances. I really don't want it hanging around getting in the way. I would prefer a foreign buyer to relocate the manure spreader out of the country. I would be willing to trade it for a nicely framed copy of the United States Constitution.
Location: Currently being stored in a big white house on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.

A MESSAGE for liberal arts majors. It's a good message, with two caveats.
One, the author himself didn't major in liberal arts as he himself defined them - philosophy, history, mathematics, language (reading/writing), and science (the scientific method). He majored in "a predictable runway to successful and well-compensated employment" - economics.
Two, the liberal arts, again as he defined them - philosophy, history, mathematics, language, and science - do not include the current politically correct victim studies that have burrowed deeply into today's liberal arts curricula.
Finally, as somewhat of a side note: despite being a lowly engineer, I have a significantly greater claim to a liberal arts education than most current liberal arts graduates, having taken three or more (usually significantly more) college classes in every one of the five areas specified.

THE BIGGEST IMPEDIMENT to passing immigration reform is ... Obama's lawlessness. I doubt any Republican would consider anything even approaching a 'grand bargain' given Obama's unwillingness to live up to the rule of law.
Expect nothing of immigration reform - except for possibly a few 'small ball' trims around the edges - until 2017 and the Congress and American people have had a chance to evaluate the trustworthiness of the next President (of either party).
