SPRING LIVES: Episode 5 of the series.
We've had rain most of the week, but the skies cleared enough to take this week's pictures. The vegetation enjoyed the rain, though - leaves, leaves, everywhere. Here's the usual view from the deck picture:
Green is out in force and the pond is already beginning to be obscured by the foliage. The water is still cloudy from the rain; we had so much that the water level rose by about 6" and overflowed the dam itself in a couple of places. The level is almost back to normal now, but it's clear I'm going to have to put in some more overflow drains to protect the dam.
The area around the fire pit hasn't changed that much yet, but the ground is so heavily covered with leaves that there's never that much in the way of bushes low to the ground and the trees in that section are always late to bloom.
The next picture is of the house, taken near our 'lookout' bench on the path to the pond. It's probably the last reasonably clear picture of the house from down the hill until next fall.
This final picture is of the pond/dock/picnic table takes from the steps just above the pond. You can see the pond through the buds on the trees; by next week, I suspect the pond itself (and the picnic table) will be almost invisible as the leaves fill in.
Last week's pictures are here for comparison.
