SPRING LIVES: Episode 4 of the series.
It's near-constant rain, high winds, thunderstorms, and possible power outages (pine trees hereabouts have an unerring ability to fall on roads and powerlines) folks, so no pictures from down at the pond today. Here are this week's pictures, and it was 'poof day' (my term for when the buds finally become leaves) earlier this week. Greenery abounds.
The first picture is more or less the usual one of the pond taken from our back deck. There are still a lot of bare branches as the bigger trees have yet to blossom, but all have buds out. The smaller trees, as evidenced by the green patches, have already begun to leaf out vigorously.
The next picture is of the firepit area, and it's already showing much more green than last week. The background is beginning to be obscured by the nearer foliage, and our plantings from last week are already perking up and growing nicely.
The last two views are ones I don't normally show, facing south down a steep hill which is impossible to walk down and heavily forested to boot. But it does have several nice dogwood trees visible from the kitchen window which have just now begun to bloom. By next week the flowers will probably be gone and it will be a jungle out there again.
As usual, last week's pictures are here for comparison.
