I thought as much as I watched the rally in real time. I don't fault the agents on the ground; they did their jobs professionally under trying conditions. Rather I believe that there were those in the upper echelons of the Secret Service who intentionally set the conditions in Butler such that a fanatic never-Trumper would have an opportunity.

The same for the attempted assassination at Mar-a-Lago.
