FALLING LEAVES 2023, Episode 8. Well, it's another day late/dollar short Sunday and the final post of this year. We start with the usual pond from the deck and fire pit/barn views of our yard.
In both cases the transition to winter is complete. What leaves are left are no longer falling and will eventually either be blown down or replaced with new leaves when spring returns. The only green left is the pine trees which are evergreen.
These views are roughly north and south along our road. The only remaining splash of color is a little red along the road to the south; otherwise the taller trees are bereft of leaves and the lesser ones that have leaves yet to fall are all brown.
Finally looking east toward the adjoining ridge we see that the dogwoods are completely bare along the fence line - even the berries have dropped.
Until next year then....
