THIS RESPONSE to a story about the Democrats' toxic brand in rural America explains perfectly why the Democrats' brand is so toxic.

The argument that rural voters are reacting to 'lies and conspiracies' is nonsense written by someone who's never been out of his family's basement. The fact is that we have televisions too, and see all to much of life in urban centers. Roberts and his sycophants have lived outside their cloistered wassl or held a real job.

The comment about Fairfax County in Virginia is especially irritating. Yes, the 'immigrants' to Fairfax tend to be younger and ethnically diverse. But highly educated? Utter nonsense -- in any rational interpretation of educated, the better statement is highly credentialed.

I would disagree with the author on a single point -- the Democrats should definitely not send David Roberts into rural areas to drum up votes.
