SPRINGTIME 2021: It's time to start my annual weekly 'spring is springing' picture series. I start this year with the reason for the season: buds showing. This little rascal started the season - a bit early, in my estimation - by showing the first buds of the season.
Now for the traditional pond view taken from the back (now side) deck. The reason for the change of name will be clear further down. As expected this time of year the pond is easily visible. Hopefully it will remain visible as we're going to have a lot of the brush cleared out in the forseeable future.
This the traditional fire pit view, with a difference this year - about 20 trees have been taken out to make room for a garden barn to be installed (hopefully) next month. So our northern forest will become an actual yard, to be named the front yard (hence the back deck becomes the side deck).
More future construction - here's the new driveway, not really visible since there's no gravel on it yet. The old driveway, sort of visible on the right, will be filled in to become a garden/front yard. Enough trees have been taken out that we're hopeful plants - maybe even grass - will grow.
The pile of dirt in this photo is the location of the future barn. With good weather and better luck it will be flat and stable enough for the barn by next week.
Next is a more-or-less traditional view of our house, taken from the road. If all goes well, the barn will be visible in front of the left side of our house, and the current driveway will cease to exist.
Finally a view down our road to the highway. It's clear right now, but by the time the final spring picture is taken it will be a tunnel.
Come back next week for more.
