'RIGHT STUFF' PILOT LEGEND Chuck Yeager Dies at 97.
Yeager was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 1973, and he kept flying into his later years, even breaking the sound barrier at age 89.
I was there when he broke the sound barrier for the last time. It was at an air show at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He was back-seating in an F-15 as it broke the soundd barrier flying down the runway above us, then waving to the crowd as the aircraft taxied past us after landing.

Rest in peace, Gen. Yeager.
