I think this idiocy could easily be stopped by simply requiring that anyone proposing, voting for, working for, or supporting any lawmaker or government regulatory bureaucrat be required to live with the proposed law/regulation for a period of not less than one year before it can be imposed on the population at large.

And the penalty for not living completely and precisely within the limits of the law/regulation should include jail time.
