MEMORIAL DAY 2020: This Memorial Day we visited the Veterans Administration National Cemetary in Canton, Georgia. Here are some pictures:

This first one is of the line of automobiles entering the cemetary. It took us well over an hour to get from the entrance of the cemetary to a place where we could park alongside the road and get out. It was very gratifying to see so many Georgians out honoring those veterans who have served.

Here is the Columbarium, where ashes of the deceased are kept.

Another view. I think there were a total of 15-16 rows. The flowers are new; I saw several people leave arrangements, and one particularly poignant one was a crayon drawing of a man on a horse by 6-year old to his grandfather.

One of several graveyard sections. Many had small flags planted; many others had coins left on the gravestones.

Finally a view of a new section opening up. The National Cemetary in Canton is relatively new, opening in 2006. It's a beautiful area in the Georgia countryside.
