A PERMANENT ASTERISK: Since President Trump is certain to be acquitted in his impeachment trial, Democrats are now busily arguing that there will forever be an 'asterisk' by his legacy because the trial was a Republican whitewash.

They're right in a way, but the asterisk will forever be attached to the Democrats of the 116th Congress. All of them, not just the leadership.
