SPRING LIVES: part I of a series.
I'm starting my annual "Spring is springing" series of photos showing the greening of the neighborhood. This first picture is from the back deck looking down the hill to the pond. There is some small evidence of budding out in the trees, but the real sign of spring is that the shrubs have begun to bud -- and even flower. Unfortunately they don't show in this picture.
The next picture is the pond, looking back toward our house. The pond surface is mirror-like, and the sky absolutely deep-blue gorgeous. The cell phone camera just doesn't have the dynamic range to capture the brilliance.
The last picture is of the house, taken from just down the hill. It's easily visible today, but by the time the forest has fully leafed out, it will just barely be visible. (Well, maybe not - we've had a number of trees fall over the winter, and we'll have to have several more leaners taken down in the near future.)
Next week I'll continue the series, maybe moving around a little as I search for spots (and times) when the camera isn't looking more or less directly into the southern sun.
