FIVE REASONS government can't work the way socialists believe it must:

(1) Unintended consequences abound.

Socialists live in a fantasy world where there are no unintended consequences. The unintended consequence is that they're completely unprepared when they show up - and they do

(2) Paradoxically, the more powerful government gets, the more susceptible it becomes to outside influences.

It's usually called graft and corruption. At which socialists excel.

(3) Government does almost nothing well.

True statement. 'Competent government is an oxymoron.

(4) Government just doesn’t care about your life as much as you do.

(5) It goes against human nature.

Granted, humans are tribal, but the basic tribal unit is me and those I'm responsible for. No one knows me better than I do.

Capitalism works because capitalists invest in controlling themselves for their economic wellbeing; socialism doesn't work because socialists invest in controlling others.
