THE SMUG IS STRONG IN THIS ONE: Voxplaining rural America.
While there are some serious elements in this article, what really chaps my ass is the implicit assumption on the part of interviewer and interviewee that somehow the rural way of life (i.e., culture) is less worthy than its urban counterpart. But how long do you suppose urban America would survive if rural America quit feeding them?
For my part I agree with this quote: "Give me small-town America over its cultured despisers any day."
