THE WIND ENERGY FIASCO writ large. Until Congress can pass a law that requires the wind to blow at a constant 22 (or whatever) mph 24 hours/day, 7 days a week - and enforce it - wind energy is a terrible idea.

Even assuming wind energy is efficient in niche applications, PowerLine captured my major gripe in this parenthetical statement:
No one develops wind farms in or near wealthy suburbs. Instead, they are located in rural areas and billions are spent on transmission lines to carry electricity to where it is consumed.
Let's put wind turbines where they're really needed - on the roof of every tall building in Manhattan.
