THE ANTI-SCIENCE CANDIDATE ... Bernie Sanders. I think 'pseudo-science' (pronounced psilly-science) is a more accurate descriptor, not just of Bernie Sanders, but of progressives generally.

I'm reminded of the tagline contemptuously applied to evangelicals not that long ago ("The Bible said it, I believe it, and that's all there is to it."). With a simple change of 'Bible' to whatever the Holy Book of progressivism is, it would accurately describe the mind of the 'modern' progressive.
