SKYLINE DRIVE LEAF TOUR: We took a drive last week along Skyline Drive through the northern part of the Shenandoah National Forest. It was too late for the best of the seasonal colors, and a bit misty and foggy, but here are some pictures.
Entering Skyline Drive through the mist:
The next two are of Thornton Hollow, a now abandoned but once thriving small farming community:
Yellow leaves everywhere. A several mile stretch where everything was bright yellow on both sides of the road:
Two views of the Shenandoah River on the west side of the National Forest as we began our return to home:
And finally, a last good-bye.
