THE BIGGEST IMPEDIMENT to passing immigration reform is ... Obama's lawlessness. I doubt any Republican would consider anything even approaching a 'grand bargain' given Obama's unwillingness to live up to the rule of law.

Expect nothing of immigration reform - except for possibly a few 'small ball' trims around the edges - until 2017 and the Congress and American people have had a chance to evaluate the trustworthiness of the next President (of either party).

Obama has diminished to Office of the President to the point of damaging it for the next several terms, no matter who occupies the White House.
