Memorandum
DATE: January 6, 2014
TO: Colorado-based Lockheed Martin Employees
FROM: John Lucas, Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Communications
SUBJECT: Drug-Free Workplace
With the start of the New Year comes the arrival of new laws in Colorado. One that has attracted significant national attention is the legalization of marijuana for recreational use within the state.
Given the nature of the work that we do and the requirements placed on us due to security clearances, we must adhere to federal law, including the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988. Marijuana is a prohibited narcotic under the federal Controlled Substances Act and Lockheed Martin employees should not use the drug for recreational or other purposes. Use of an illegal federal substance can have a negative impact on obtaining or maintaining a security clearance and continued employment.
More details on Lockheed Martin’s commitment to a drug-free workplace are available online. We appreciate your adherence to company policy and federal law.
More proof Liberals are stupid. From a fellow Lockheed Martin retiree.
