CAUGHT BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE: Federal officials investigate eagle deaths at DWP wind farm. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are investigating the deaths of six golden eagles at a California wind farm in Tehachipi. The company that operates the wind turbines could face prosecution under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act - and the lights could go out for 56,000 Los Angeles homes.

I've driven past the wind farm many times when I lived in California. Here's a picture of a small part of the wind farm.
