MORE PEOPLE killed with hammers and clubs each year than with rifles. "And it seems fairly obvious that if more people had a gun, less people would be inclined to try to hit them in the head with a hammer."
WE'RE NOW one step closer to America's coming civil war. And judging from my afternoon at the gun range, Americans are preparing. There were fathers practicing with sons, mothers practicing with daughters, and the gun shop was overflowing with customers.
AL JAZEERA buys Current TV. Al Gore walks away with millions from oil (and is too cheap to pay taxes).

Taxes are for little people.
IT'S OKAY for you to pay higher taxes. Just not me.
FISCAL THEATRICS: "If you’ve enjoyed the fiscal cliff political theater that has consumed Washington over the past two months, you are going to love 2013."

If I didn't have children and grandchildren, I'd get out the popcorn, sit back and enjoy the circus.
WHY THE 2ND AMENDMENT:
There are about 300 million privately held firearms owned by Americans. That's nothing to sneeze at. And notice that the people who support gun control are the very people who want to control and dictate our lives.
AR-15's are selling like hotcakes at the gun shops. There's a reason, and it's not just self-protection.

BE AFRAID; BE VERY AFRAID: Welcome to Very, Very Scary Times.
I USED TO BE A MAN; then I retired.
IF I WAS THE GREEN FAMILY, and wealthy enough to 'go Galt', I'd simply close the business.

Not go bankrupt, not sell out, simply close. "It was a good run, folks, but now it's time to go."
SOME EXAMPLES OF THE 'TOLERANT' LEFT:

Eliminationist rhetoric from a 'journalist'. I predict it won't be long before his home address, email, and telephone number will be available online.

Music professor proposes death penalty for global warming ‘deniers’.

Greenwich Village couple busted with cache of weapons, bombmaking explosives.

And they call us hateful. Roger Kimball attempts to explain why.
“OUR CONSTITUTION may not be perfect, but it’s better than the government we’ve got." Those 'evil' and 'archaic' provisions are why, despite 100 years of largely successful 'Progressive' assault against our constitutional principles, the United States is still the freest nation in the world.
WELCOME TO DEATH'S DOOR. Oh, did we forget to tell you?
"TO THIS DAY, the Republican establishment still goes for pragmatic moderates who feed pablum to the public, instead of treating them like adults. Acting like Democrats without the emotion."
KARMA IS A BITCH: The Journal News — the newspaper that mapped the home addresses of the law-abiding handgun owners in its area — has hired armed guards.

They've also had their subscriber list hacked and posted to the web. I'll bet that makes their subscribers really, really happy....

[UPDATE] Day by Day has more thoughts. For those who aren't DBD regulars, Karl is the abusive ex-boyfriend.
PAT BUCHANAN: The Depardieu Revolution.
With federal income taxes on America's most successful rising today to almost 40 percent, New York City residents will also pay a top rate of 12 percent to the state and city plus a 9 percent sales tax on their purchases, plus payroll taxes for Medicare and Social Security, plus property taxes, auto taxes, gas taxes and cigarette taxes.

For many successful Americans, over half of all they earn is now taken by government. And reading The New York Times' year-end editorial, these may soon be seen as the good old days.

The Times urges Obama to consider sweeping new taxes to "reduce income inequality." Among the revenue raisers for which it urges consideration: Almost tripling the capital tax rate to 40 percent, capping deductions for high earners, restoring the estate tax to confiscatory levels, higher tax rates or surcharges on multimillion-dollar incomes and raising the corporate tax rate -- already the highest in the world.

"All that would be only a start," says the Times. A carbon tax, a value-added tax, a financial transactions tax should all be looked at.
It's a wonder that more people aren't packing their bags for departure....

[UPDATE] Cal Thomas has more.

HAVE YOU NOTICED? Nothing succeeds like failure in the Obama administration. (To be honest, it's not just an Obama administration problem; the Obama administration is just the worst example.)
YOU MIGHT FREEZE TO DEATH, but at least you won't pollute the atmosphere.
GREGORY KANE: The annual Chutzpah Awards. President Obama was both second and first runner-up.
VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: An Anatomy of a Most Peculiar Institution. As the first in my family to graduate from college, and as the only one (so far) to hold a Ph.D., I find myself in the peculiar position of believing that my granddaughters will be better off not to bother with the University and go instead to a for-profit school for vocational or technical training.

Aristotle, Plato, and Dante may be better understood on a quiet night at home than in a University classroom.
