Harvard also has a $53.2 billion (with a 'B') largely untaxed FY 2024 endowment. My (admittedly jaundiced) view is that they'd rather give it to their own students to spend on and around their own campus than pay the Trump administration a 10%-20% or so annual income/capital gains tax.
