WOW! San Francisco Chronicle refuses to endorse Barbara Boxer. And they said good things about Carly Fiorina (although they don’t think so).
HOW’S THAT HOPEY-CHANGEY THING WORKING OUT? Left-wing groups plan giant rally on Mall; will 're-commit to change'.

I’ll be there to see.
“THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MOTIVATED to risk it all and fight for their nation are fighting with the American flag in one hand and the tea party banner in the other. If there is any hope to restore principle in politics for 2010 and beyond, it lies with the tea parties.”

FALL IS HERE. Not because of the autumnal equinox, but because I just started the annual ritual of sweeping the leaves off the back deck.
THEY STILL DON’T GET IT. Democrats’ woes stem from uninformed voters. No, they stem from the fact the voters are now paying attention.

GREEN JOBS, by government definition:
"arbitrators, mediators, and conciliators," "financial analysts," "financial quantitative analysts," "investment underwriters," "marketing managers," "personal financial advisers," "public relations specialists," "wholesale and retail buyers," and "reporters and correspondents."
I’d’ve included retirees and the unemployed as well, since they clearly must consume much less of our “public” resources such as gasoline, heating oil, coal, food ....
DAGWOOD discovers ObamaCare.
STEPHEN COLBERT brings truthiness about farm work to Capitol Hill. Isn’t that what Congress is all about - “truthiness?”
SHORT TAKES from the Washington Examiner.
Don’t worry, we’ll just let taxes go up after the election.

Mike Castle is polling Delaware for a possible write-in bid.

More confirmation: Independent voters leaning heavily GOP this year.

Governing, seizing your wealth, ruining your life … it’s just a joke for this Congress.

Justice Department “just wants blood.”

What? Obama? Inflate job numbers? No way.

Wow, I don’t remember The New York Times giving as much scrutiny to the environmental groups that helped Democrats in 2006 as they give to Americans for Job Security.
I hope this becomes a regular feature.
THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: ”[W]e see here a weird recognition that most people apparently don’t know what is best for them, so they must in some fashion be deluded into accepting what will make them better.”

PROFESSORS AND ADMINISTRATORS overwhelmingly contribute to Democratic candidates.

Instapundit comments: “Seems like they’ve got a diversity problem.” Not really; those who feed at the public trough usually vote for the trough fillers.
THE DEBT EXPLOSION: Big Media’s biggest failure?
HOW I KNOW I’VE GOT TOO MANY OAK TREES: the mulch beds on both sides of the driveway consist entirely of crushed and shredded acorns.
INSTAPUNDIT ON THE HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE: “One point ... that is worth mentioning .... The government decides to try to increase the middle class by subsidizing things that middle class people have: If middle-class people go to college and own homes, then surely if more people go to college and own homes, we’ll have more middle-class people. But homeownership and college aren’t causes of middle-class status, they’re markers for possessing the kinds of traits — self-discipline, the ability to defer gratification, etc. — that let you enter, and stay, in the middle class. Subsidizing the markers doesn’t produce the traits; if anything, it undermines them.
REPUBLICANS HAVE WRITTEN A “PLEDGE TO AMERICA” calling for tax cuts, a reduction in government spending and a repeal of the new health care law, among other initiatives.

The 21-page Pledge to America is here.
ANOTHER ENTITLED ESTABLISHMENTARIAN SNIT? Castle Leaves Open Door to Write-In Bid for Senate.
MAINE? TEA PARTY CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR UP 18 POINTS. “It's one of the last bastions of New England, Country-club Republicanism. It hasn’t voted for a Republican president since 1988, and now the state has Tea Party fever.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CONSPIRACY THEORIST to wonder if Tuesday's 'town hall' was staged? Certainly it's less of a stretch than the Apollo moon landing conspiracy theories.
THE ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA “reveals itself, not as the people’s watchdog against irresponsible government, but as the irresponsible government’s guard dog against the people.”

Yes.
HOW I KNOW that government - local, state, and federal - is too damn big: the Prince William County Library has a Sunday session on “theraputic drumming.”
