FALLING LEAVES, 2020: Week 8:

We start the week with the usual pond view from our deck.

Everything not evergreen is now brown - and mostly gone.

Here's our road. A few reds left, but not much else.

Looking downhill toward the creek, there is still some color, mostly a result of the fact that last week's winds didn't get down into the valley. Otherwise they'd be gone.

Here's our pond, still with a bit of color left, since it's mostly surrounded by evergreens.

Finally one from outside our little community. This was taken at an abandoned house on TVA property near the Lake Blue Ridge dam. I don't know the tree species, but the foliage is absolutely spectacular.

PANDEMIC OVER? I've been suggesting it for several months now; here's proof.

RANDOM THOUGHT: On the bright side, assuming Joe Biden does become President, immigration (both legal and illegal) should come to a screeching halt. In my lifetime I have never seen hordes of people at the gates clamoring to get into a socialist shithole.

[BACKDATED] WUHAN FLU [CORONAVIRUS] UPDATE for November 6, 2020:

Apologies again for missing deadlines; been busy with election depression.

On the Wuhan flu side, daily deaths are continuing to rise slightly, but the confirmed positive cases remain constant at about 7% even as the daily number of tests performed continues to increase and the death rate (as a percentage of total tests performed) continues to decline.

In Georgia, current data has confirmed cases and deaths rising, but since the first of October, while confirmed cases have risen roughly 15% and hospitalizations by 9%, deaths are down 8%.

TRUEST STATEMENT EVER: "[T]he function of identity politics isn’t to win elections, it’s to make white progressives feel good about themselves."

ANOTHER: The “progressive coalition” seems increasingly composed of angry white people with “studies” degrees.
