DESPITE MY 'EVERY WEEK' PROMISE, it's been two weeks since I started my "Autumn Leaves" posts. Herewith are this week's pictures, along with a promise to be more faithful in posting.

The first is the usual 'photo from the deck'. The hill across the pond will gradually become more visible as the fall progresses, but about the only difference from two weeks ago is that (almost dead) tree has lost all its leaves, and the pond is a bit more visible since I've spent the last two weeks clearing the underbrush on the slope down to the pond.

The next photo is the driveway view. Eventually it will show the most dramatic change, but for now about the only change is the brush removal on the right-hand side.

The next one is the 'bench view' from two weeks ago. The leaves are still green, but the view is much better now that the brush has been cleared out. It's now walkable all the way down to the pond from anywhere on the property if 'walkable' is interpreted to include a 30-45 degree slope....

The last two are pond views; one from each end of the pond. The first was taken looking roughly north from the stair above the dock; the second looking back toward the dock from the opposite side of the pond. The blue sky, unfortunately, is washed out from that southwestern summer sun pouring into the camera.

There's still lots of green, with just a touch of brown. My suspicion is there's not going to be a lot of color this year, just leaves going from green to gold to dead....
