Sarah Palin is brilliant in defining the fundamentals of complex issues in simple and vibrant terms. With her, single-payer health care became death panels - an exaggeration, to be sure, but one that cut to the core issue of giving up one's freedom for uncertain security.
Now she turns to the Waxman-Markey "cap-and-trade" bill: "Job losses are so certain under this new cap-and-tax plan that it includes a provision accommodating newly unemployed workers from the resulting dried-up energy sector, to the tune of $4.2 billion over eight years. So much for creating jobs."
The Washington Times agrees. The Washington Post does not.
I love how people trotted out the ol' "But she doesn't matter anymore!" chestnut again today.
