WHITE HOUSE to target billionaires with new minimum tax in 2023.

There are just a few flies in the White House ointment. Here are three: (1) the White House's deficit is too large, (2) there aren't enough billionaires, and (3) the billionaires won't cooperate. But other than that....

I tend to favor having everyone having to pay at least some minimal income tax each year. According to the Tax Policy Center, the top 20% of taxpayers pay over 70% of the total income taxes each year; the bottom 40% pay none. I believe everyone should have some skin in the game if for no other reason than for them to (hopefully) pay attention to how their money is spent.
