TEXAS' BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK SUFFERING STAFF SHORTAGES - or is it?
Being a government agency, I'm sure there is more than a bit of fluff and featherbedding in the National Park Service. My granddaughter is a (seasonal) Park Ranger, having worked in the Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve in Alaska, Zion National Park in Utah, and now in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. According to her it's a good job, with a bit of wildlife management, rescue, and police activity as part of the job. That said, I would be a bit concerned if she were to go to Big Bend National Park, given that it is right on a Mexican border that is ill-patrolled.
