RANDOM THOUGHT: Have our 'betters' in the ruling class ever considered the thought that the opiod crisis may be a result of too much government interference in our daily lives?

DRAMA QUEENS DEMAND AIR TIME: White House reporters demand daily press briefings be televised.
OUR POLITICAL CLASS: They're wrong about everything.

But they're certain....
EXACTLY WHAT SHE DESERVES: Professor fired for saying Otto Warmbier ‘got exactly what he deserved’.

Another liberal idiot academic (I know; triple redundancy) bites the dust....
BERNIE SANDERS & WIFE share their wealth (with defense attorneys).

Plus other goodies from the week in review....
NEW JERSEY COLLEGE PROFESSOR: I was "publicly lynched".

Nope. Tucker Carlson only handed her the rope. She was the one who fashioned the noose, tied it to a tree, climbed up on her soapbox, put the noose over her head, and jumped off.

Update: Oh, wait, it was rape. I guess the race black privilege card didn't work.
DAVID HOROWITZ: Have the never Trumpers no shame?
SALON WRITER accidentally admits the Left’s racist views on illegal immigrants.
ONE WAY TO AVOID BOOMERANG KIDS is to have them learn real skills in high school.
POTEMPKIN PROGRESSIVISM - mostly bluff, or real anger? My personal opinion is that it's real anger that their bluff has been called.

INCONVENIENT NEWS for the 'climatistas'.
CLINTON, SANDERS AND WARREN DON’T WANT TO CAUSE A PANIC, but ... you’re about to die because Republicans.

But he's not a CNN 'employee'....
POWERLINE'S Week in Pictures is up. Many favorites this week, but I limited myself to posting only two:

Now go see the rest.
THOSE LAYERS AND LAYERS OF MSM FACTCHECKERS & EDITORS: MSNBC host calls GOP Senator Cory Gardner a Democrat from New Jersey.
BE THANKFUL Trump is not an insane Leftist.
THE SCANDAL hiding in plain sight is finally getting some attention.
WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' CONSERVATIVES: What it was like to cover Jon Ossoff's 'accessible' campaign.
MIKE ADAMS: Duke process of law.

Any resemblance to the real thing is purely coincidental.
Shot: Actions speak louder than words. "By their fruits shall ye know them".

Chaser: And when they're nuts you shall avoid them.
From the comments at this post.
MEMO TO DEMOCRATS: Second place is also last place.
GA-6: A win for global warming climate change.
THE UNBEARABLE SMUGNESS of being a Democrat. As a general rule, it's safe to assume they are exactly what they accuse you of being.

FINISHING MOST EXPENSIVE HOUSE RACE EVER, Ossoff calls for campaign finance reform.

Like Jon Ossoff, I'd like to see a couple of campaign reforms too - the first being that the candidate must live in, and be a resident of, the district he/she proposes to represent for at least a year prior to the election. The second I'd like to see is a requirement that all the funds expended in support of the candidate be from the residents of the district in which the candidates are running.
HEARD ON FOX BUSINESS CHANNEL on Illinois' financial woes: "The only difference between Illinois and Venezuela is that Illinois still has toilet paper."

SORRY, CLASS WARRIORS: unions aren't coming back. Except for public-sector (government) unions which, as Jacoby correctly notes, should be banned outright.
OH, REALLY? Accused NSA leaker Reality Winners' motive a mystery (to ABC, NBC, and CBS).

It must be a mystery if it doesn't fit the preferred liberal narrative.

DEMOCRATS doubling down on elitist snobbery.
The real problem for elites is the condescension on the social agenda. Trump voters dislike the snobbery.... [I]t is having American values mocked, scorned, and ridiculed on a daily basis that finally had enough Americans saying enough.
Spot on.
GUN 'CONTROL'? The Washington Post's inventive flip-flop on noise suppressors.

OF COURSE. Are colleges committing consumer fraud?

Not even Starbucks needs that many ill-educated baristas.
KURT SCHLICTER: The joy of surfing on a sea of liberal tears.
BALL PARK SHOOTER was radicalized by the Left. Just as our 'know wolf' domestic terrorists are radicalized by a virulent strain of Islam.

But what do we hear from the progressive Left? Crickets, just crickets....
CALIFORNIA WANTS to take single-payer for a test drive. I say "Let 'em." But on their own nickel; no federal largesse....
THE VICTIMS have their knives out - for each other.

THE DEMOCRATS after Attorney General Jeff Sessions went before Congress.

Ignoring the Iron Law of Holes isn't wise....
I LIKE THIS IDEA: Trump should declare a university holiday.
FEDERAL REGULATION: Here's how it affects your pocketbook.
[A] new report estimated that if the costs of federal regulation flowed down to U.S. households, the average American family would pay $14,809 annually in a hidden regulatory tax. That's $14,809 in addition to income taxes, state taxes, and Social Security. $14,809 in addition to sales taxes, property taxes, and even estate taxes — where the government taxes you for being dead.
Actuallly you do pay that bill; it's embedded in the cost of products and services you buy daily.

REMEMBER THAT DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD THINGY? Firms pressed to defend ads on left-leaning Rachel Maddow, Anderson Cooper, other MSNBC/CNN shows.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI is now offering free mental health diagnoses on MSNBC.

And it's absolutely worth every penny....
RALLIES AGAINST ISLAMIC LAW draw counter-protests across United States.

We should offer the counterprotestors free (one-way) tickets to Saudi Arabia or any majority-Muslim country in the world. Unfortunately just like the Hollyweirds who declared they will flee the U.S. if Trump was elected, there will be no takers.
CALIFORNIA PLANS TO STOP TRUMP from shrinking any national “monuments”.

Uh, California? Does the word 'national' mean anything to you?
[I]f a single bugging of the political opposition is enough to bring down a presidency — and maybe lead to an unprecedented criminal prosecution of a former president — then what are we to make of the recently unveiled Obama administration program of massively spying on political opponents in violation of clearly established law?
Nothing. Nixon was a Republican; Obama is a Democrat.

THE LATEST NEWS from the president in exile.
ABANDON THE SEQUESTER; we must spend more on defense.
JAMES COMEY: just another DC swamp critter.

This has to be the coolest June since Al Gore created global warming.

When I turn on a newscast, I expect news - factual news, not a series of PC nanny-state health and safety warnings. It's little wonder that Trump's 'fake news' term has taken hold.

One thing you can say about 'fake' news; it makes the news channels - CNN, MSNBC, and the like - much easier to ignore.
BREAKING: CNN to launch spinoff - the Real News Network.

Linked from Instapundit.

ISN'T THAT OBVIOUS? Many colleges fail to improve critical-thinking skills. If anything, they've done an outstanding job of destroying them.
HEH: “[Obama’s] the one who made fun of Mitt Romney in the debates in 2012 for having a 1980s mindset. I mean, the 1930s should call him about his [Obama's] foreign policy.”
HEH: Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to rewrite it ... unsucessfully.
CIVIL RIGHTS 'LEADER' compares Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff to JFK. I never thought too highly of Kennedy, but comparing Ossoff to him is an insult to Kennedy's memory.
EVERGREEN STATE OFFICIALS ask student vigilantes to stop patrolling campus with baseball bats. Since it's the university demanding action, I think it's safe to assume the bat wielders are not the loons who have taken over the campus....

UPDATE: I guess I was wrong; Evergreen State University is now officially a lunatic asylum.
YOUNG REPORTER ARRESTED AFTER UNLOADING ON COP: "I Work At A F**king News Station, Motherf**ker."

She should spend her time in jail working on her resume, because I suspect that she will no longer be employed when she's released.

NEWT GINGRICH: Remembering D-Day. I find the last paragraph of Gingrich's article to be particularly prescient: "It took courage to defeat evil on D-Day in 1944. It will take courage to defeat [the] evil [of terrorism] today."

History is too important to ignore it; today should be another D-Day - in the war on terrorism.
UH, WHAT ABOUT KNIFE CONTROL LAWS? Europeans respond to terrorist attacks with tougher gun control laws.

And, um, vehicle control laws?
