WHY I LIKE LIVING IN RURAL GEORGIA: A short while ago we drove down to the local Post Office to put a letter in the mail that had missed the morning mail delivery. On the way back, we found the road blocked by a tree that had been blown down by the higher-than-normal due to hurricane Matthew winds.

About 6 cars (each way) were stopped, and rather than call 911 and wait, the drivers got out of their cars, lifted up the tree and moved it out of the road (including the young lady in the car in front of us, who opened her trunk and pulled out a machete to lop off some of the offending branches).

About 5 minutes later, we were all merrily on our way. All without government 'help'.
