VICTOR DAVIS HANSON: Culture Still Matters. As the contractors work around my house, I see it here as well.
MITT ROMNEY WINS OVER THE RIGHT by confronting Obama. "Behind his confrontational strategy: A bet that the base cares more about grit than policy, and doesn't want him to apologize ..."
It's not about the Republican base. I care about policy, but I also want a candidate who has the grit to stand up, punch back, and not apologize when his supporters take a few whacks.

TAXING THE POOR to save the rich. What's the return on investment for public charity funding? Probably about the same as for public equity funding.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE. Without federal subsidies, Fisker may never build electric cars in the United States. Given their propensity to spontaneously combust, that might not be a bad thing.
WE'VE GOT SOME PRIME SWAMPLAND TO SELL: "Despite the growing rancor on Capitol Hill demanding an advanced missile defense shield on the East Coast, the Pentagon does not have the money or desire to build such a system in the eastern United States."
Remember the Polish Ground Missile Defense (GMD) interceptor site that President Obama so abruptly cancelled?

The Missile Defense Agency is planning to expand the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) to include new, two-stage Ground-based Interceptors (GBIs) in Poland and an X-band radar (referred to as the European Midcourse Radar (EMR)) in the Czech Republic. These European assets are planned to provide defenses against long-range Iranian threats to the United States [emphasis added] as well as against intermediate-range Iranian threats to Europe.Look on your map and see where Poland is with respect to Iran and the East Coast -- almost exactly mid-way. Of course Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons or an ICBM to carry it (yet).
"LIBERALS NEED TO LEARN RULES OF CIVILITY rather than insults in debate with their political opponents; otherwise, they look like crude, unmannered bullies void of arguments and full of fear and loathing."
Well, they are crude, unmannered bullies incapable of coherent speech.

NASA WILL AIR FOOTAGE OF VENUS TRANSIT. "Check the space agency's www.nasa.govwebsite for specifics as June 5 approaches."
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"From my email.

MITT ROMNEY AT SOLYNDRA photo caption contest. My favorite so far: "If you’re going to have an investor in chief, why not have a successful one?"
THE PROBLEM WITH OBAMA [is that] "he thinks he's the fairness czar. He didn't say that a president is supposed to create an environment that nurtures business success. He said a president is supposed to make sure that nobody walks away with too much." (Well, except him and his cronies.)
