WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO? Man kills himself rather than face the rigors of the Inquisition.
REP. ALAN GRAYSON [D-FL] wins 'Muzzle' award for free speech offenses. Nothing unusual there; Grayson is well-known for being a lunatic.

What’s interesting, though, is this: “Grayson was just one of 10 ‘official’ winners of the Muzzle this year. And, unlike previous years, according to Jefferson Center Director Bob O'Neil, all 10 winners were government and school officials.”

Free speech for me, but not for thee.
LIFE’S LITTLE PLEASURES: going, ... going, ... gone.
Reading the onslaught of angry denunciations of Burger King by mental health organizations and mainstream media reporters this past week reminded me of a characteristic of the Left not often commented on: a certain joylessness, even an antipathy to the little joys that contribute more than almost anything else to most people's ability to endure the difficulties of life. ... Like medieval Christians who wore hair shirts and Puritans who thought dancing was sacrilegious, the Left, consciously or not, is uncomfortable with many of the joys ... that people experience.
Read it all - including the comments. My Burger King post is here.
WHO SAID TORTURE DOESN’T WORK? Those secure chips that protect bank transactions, credit-card payments, and other secure internet traffic can be tortured to give up their secrets.
WHO NEEDS A COMMITTEE REPORT to spot rank deception? Joanne Nova writes on the East Anglia whitewash:
The issue ... is not that complicated. The emails are damning because anyone who reads them understands that they show petty, unprofessional, and probably criminal behaviour. We know the guys who wrote them are not people we'd want to buy cars from. They are hiding information. We don't need a committee to state the obvious.
Pity we have to go to Australia to get real commentary.
